Bill Credits

Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) understands that unexpected situations can sometimes lead to higher than normal water usage. In certain cases, customers may qualify for a bill credit to help reduce unusually high charges.

Leak Credit

Customers who experience an unusually high bill due to a leak may qualify for a credit if the leak was not known at the time and was repaired promptly once discovered.

To request a leak credit, customers must submit a completed Leak Credit Statement along with documentation showing the repair. This includes the approximate date the leak occurred, the date it was repaired, and copies of repair receipts or invoices.

The statement must be completed in full and notarized. Requests that are incomplete or missing documentation cannot be reviewed.

If approved, the credit will be calculated based on the customer's typical water usage over the previous 12 months.

Swimming Pool Credit

Customers filling a swimming pool may request a credit that removes sewer charges associated with the water used to fill the pool.

This credit may apply during initial pool construction or major maintenance that requires the pool to be drained and refilled.

To request this credit, customers must submit the required affidavit along with documentation verifying the pool's capacity. Water meter readings must be taken immediately before and after the pool is filled.

Requests must be submitted within 30 days after the pool is filled.

Customers who install new sod may qualify for a temporary adjustment to their water bill during the 30-day establishment period.

To qualify, customers must install at least one pallet of sod, provide proof of purchase or installation, and complete a Water

Conservation Assessment with a CCUA technician.

Customers who receive reclaimed irrigation service are not eligible for this credit.

Requests must be submitted within 30 days after sod installation.
