Water Quality & Safety

Protecting Your Water Every Step of the Way

When you turn on the tap, you expect the water flowing out to be clean, safe, and reliable. At Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA), ensuring the quality of your drinking water is our highest priority. We operate a state-of-the-art laboratory and employ a team of licensed professionals who work around the clock to treat, test, and monitor our water supply. We don’t just aim to meet state and federal standards; we strive to exceed them.

Annual Water Quality Reports

We believe in full transparency regarding what is in your water. In compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), we publish an annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR).

What is the CCR? This comprehensive document summarizes the thousands of tests we conduct throughout the year. It provides detailed data on the detection of regulated substances and confirms that your water meets all health safety standards.

PFAS / PFOA Monitoring

You may have heard recent news regarding Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) and PFOA, often referred to as "forever chemicals." These are man-made chemicals used in industry and consumer products since the 1940s that can persist in the environment.

Our Proactive Approach: Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) is actively monitoring the latest EPA regulations and research regarding PFAS. We conduct rigorous sampling of our source water to ensure we detect any potential presence of these compounds.

Lead & Copper Program

Protecting our community from lead exposure is a critical part of our mission. While Clay County Utility Authority (CCUA) distribution mains are not made of lead, we work diligently to prevent lead from leaching into water from older household plumbing or private service lines.

Service Line Inventory: In accordance with the EPA’s Revised Lead and Copper Rule, we maintain a public inventory of service line materials throughout our service area. This helps us identify and replace any remaining legacy materials that could pose a risk.
