Retracted 04/30/2026 – Planned Water Service Interruption and Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory

Please be advised that water service in the vicinity of Olive Court, as shown on the attached map, will be interrupted from  9:00am to approximately 4:00pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, for a modification to the water distribution system in the area.

Water service WILL be available EXCEPT during the hours listed
above. The precautionary advisory starts when the water is restored AFTER the work is completed on the
28th and will remain in effect until notice of the clearance has been provided.

The Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory will begin once water service has been restored after the work is completed and will remain in effect until a notice of clearance has been provided.

CUSTOMERS THAT ARE NOT WITHIN THE AFFECTED AREA ON THE ATTACHED MAP ARE
NOT INCLUDED IN THE PLANNED OUTAGE OR THE BOIL WATER ADVISORY

Advisory Information

The advisory will remain in effect until the Clay County Utility Authority conducts a bacteriological survey of the public drinking water supply. Two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological samples are required before this advisory can be lifted.

A notice will be posted on your door and our website will be updated once the Drinking Water Advisory has been lifted.

During the Water Interruption

While the water service is temporarily unavailable, we recommend that you turn off all appliances that automatically draw water, including but not limited to:

  • Washing machines
  • Dishwashers
  • Ice makers
  • Water heaters
  • Water softeners

Service will be restored once our technicians complete the repair, flush the water lines, and measure disinfection levels to ensure water quality.

After water service has been restored, we recommend allowing water to run in your kitchen and bathroom faucets for several minutes to remove any sediment or air that may have entered the system.

If air is present in the system, the water may appear milky. This is normal and not a cause for alarm. Please continue flushing the line until the air has cleared.

IMPORTANT

As an additional precaution following a water service interruption, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) requires the Clay County Utility Authority to notify customers that they are under a Drinking Water Advisory.

As a precautionary measure and until further notice, water used for human consumption (drinking or food preparation) must be boiled for at least three (3) minutes.
